HIV these days is a manageable disease and is no longer associated with the fear and doom that it once did. It does not mean, however, that it is a disease to be taken lightly.
In this section we introduce you to ways to cope after finding out that you are HIV-positive, tips to living healthily while managing the virus, and stories from people around the world who have gone through what you are going through.
With this information, you may find hope and optimism that HIV does not change who you are ultimately, that issues can be overcome or managed, and that you can live a long and productive life regardless of the virus, as long as you follow a healthy lifestyle and avoid risks.
Have you or someone you know tested positive for HIV? The Body, Mind AND Spirit – ASGS Foundation assists people living with HIV and AIDS with care and treatment, counseling, ongoing support, and active advocacy on their behalf.
